We were dismayed to read newspaper reports about the social media activity of Maqsood Ahmad (former CEO of BMHC) and Nasar Mahmood (Chair of BMHC).

As our members and friends will know, we have held joint events with BMHC, for example those linked below:

We have also used BMHC as the South Manchester pickup point for a number of our coach trips.
Accordingly, we were pleased to see that BMHC has taken this social media activity very seriously. Maqsood Ahmad ceased to be CEO of BMHC five days after the 25 April Jewish Chronicle story.
BMHC have sent us a position statement informing us that Nasar Mahmood is stepping aside as Chair whilst an independent review of the issues arising from the social media content he shared is carried out. BMHC has apologised for the troubling material shared by Nasar Mahmood, and he has also apologised. The BMHC statement also sets out the further steps they will be taking.
