We were outraged and horrified by the killings in Paris last week and have sent the letter below to the Co-Chairs of Shalom Paix Salam ! which is our sister organisation in Paris.

Shalom Paix Salam !

Dear Corine and Zouzou
The members of the Muslim Jewish Forum of Greater Manchester, like millions of people worldwide, were outraged by the atrocities committed by terrorists last week, which saw seventeen people cruelly murdered at the offices of Charlie Hebdo, the Hyper Cacher supermarket and on the streets of Paris.
At this time, we feel for the families of the slain, the people of Paris generally and you, our friends at Shalom Paix Salam !, who for many years have been strongly committed to bringing together Muslim and Jewish people in your city. Last week was an unimaginably horrific and sad week in your beautiful city but we hope that the solidarity shown yesterday at the Paris march and also across the World helped to somewhat alleviate your pain.
Nothing can justify these barbaric crimes, which wholly contradict the principles of all faiths. We must stand together against such murderous acts and hope that people do not see this as an excuse for more hatred and division but instead as a catalyst that can bring us together to promote compassion, respect and peace.
Yours in solidarity
For and on behalf of The Muslim Jewish Forum of Greater Manchester
