On Sunday 6th March, we hosted our first ever quiz evening at the Multifaith Centre in central Manchester. There was a warm, friendly atmosphere as teams consisting of Jewish people, Muslims, Christians and Humanists battled it out for pole position.
The quiz masters were the popular local quiz expert and retired teacher, Steven Pearlman, and our Executive member, Jonny Wineberg . They combined very well to ensure that the evening was both challenging and entertaining.
The winners of the quiz were the "Terrible Twos" team namely Sam Roberts, Lucette Tucker, Suzanne Hatton, Alex Wiseman, Dr. Jackie Lewis and the Muslim Jewish Forum Co Chair, Heather Fletcher. They won vouchers towards a meal at J.S. Kosher restaurant in Prestwich.
Steven Pearlman stated "It was very enjoyable presenting the quiz with Jonny in such a pleasant friendly atmosphere. I think that we pitched the quiz about right in terms of difficulty level and variety of questions"
Participant Ann Algar commented "It was a very enjoyable evening with excellent nibbles and good company and varied quiz questions. I look forward to the next one!"
Heather Fletcher said "Looking round the room everyone was enjoying participating in answering the questions. We shall definitely consider repeating this event next year."
